Reviews and Ratings
The hotel is in a lovely location near the pavilion gardens and plenty of pubs/restaurants, making it perfect for exploring the Opera house and bars. The rooms were a good size, although a bit crowded, with a walk-in shower, but the unevenness of the bed was a minor safety concern. The service was friendly and helpful, with effort put into making guests feel welcome. The dining experience offered a brilliant selection of dishes made from fresh local produce. Overall, a welcoming place with some minor room issues to consider.
The hotel had a beautiful old-world style, with lovely comfortable suites that were clean and dog-friendly. The brand-new rooms in this historic hotel were a perfect blend of old and new. The service was friendly and delightful, particularly accommodating for guests arriving on bikes. The location was excellent, right in the center of Buxton with a comfy bed and large towels. The dining experience, while hit and miss, featured excellent quality breakfast items. Overall, a great stay with a few minor hiccups.
I had a pleasant stay at the hotel. The rooms were lovely, with a four-poster bed and wonderful antique furniture. However, given the price of £100 a night, I expected a bit more. Being awoken at 3 a.m. by same female guests returning to their room and continued coughing in their bathroom was a bit of a downside. The room was huge, with a beautiful view from both windows which faced east.
